Who we are looking for:

Triple Eight Transport Inc. is looking for a Strong and detail oriented, Accounts Payables clerk. You’ll bring excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as solid computer skills, time management, high attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities include

Manage the Accounts Payable, Invoices and Vendor Payables functions.
Completing accounts payable process from receipt of invoices to payment disbursement, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Prepare vendor cheques, and coordinate wire and EFT payments both scheduled weekly as well manual urgent needs as requested
Manage and reconcile the AP-related general ledger accounts (e.g. trade AP, accrued receipts) and identify and resolve variances.
Ensure current and accurate Standard Operating Procedures exist and are being utilized
Create, monitor, update, and improve systems, processes, and resources
Identify opportunities for improvements and implement best practices to streamline accounts payable operations
Drive process to identify and implement automation capabilities over purchase requisitions and payment approval process flows
Building and maintaining relationships with employees, vendors, internal and external partners
Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
Assist with month-end processes and reconciliation processes.
Posting, coding and reviewing submission of expenses.
PST and GST Reporting.
Other duties assigned by Triple Eight Transport.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications

Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks, likely with competing priorities
Ability to regularly interact with staff and management to provide or obtain related information
Strong work ethic, sense of responsibility and confidentiality
Strong decision making, communication (both verbal and written), and analytical skills
An organized self-starter who is able to work independently
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to contribute effectively within a team environment
At least 3 years experience in Accounts Payables.
Communication skills- verbal and written
Works effectively as a part of a team
Minimum of one year of experience in Transportation industry is an asset
Experience in Great Plains Software is an asset
Must be legally allowed to work full time in Canada
