We are seeking a skilled and experienced Controller to join our corporate office team to help manage and optimize our financial operations across multiple businesses.

Position Summary:

The Controller will be responsible for overseeing the financial activities of the companies, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining robust internal controls, and supporting strategic financial planning. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the hospitality, franchising, and manufacturing sectors. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and the capacity to manage complex financial operations across multiple business units.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee and manage the financial operations of the company, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

- Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the company’s assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.

- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with CRA standards

- Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, providing detailed analysis and variance reports.

- Coordinate and manage the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors.

- Ensure compliance with all federal, provincial, and local financial regulations and tax filings.

- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency and accuracy.

- Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making and business growth.

- Manage cash flow, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll functions.

- Collaborate with department heads and senior management to drive financial performance and operational excellence.

- Monitor and analyze financial performance across various business units, identifying trends and areas for improvement.

- Support mergers, acquisitions, and other business development activities as required.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA designation preferred.

- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least 5 years in a controller position.

- Extensive experience in the hospitality, franchising, and manufacturing sectors.

- Strong understanding of CRA and regulatory compliance requirements.

- Proven ability to manage complex financial operations across multiple business units.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Proficient in Quickbooks Online, and advanced MS Excel skills.

- Strong leadership and team management abilities.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
