Duties include the following:

Preparing compiled financial statements
Performing bookkeeping and offering bookkeeping support
Preparing personal and corporate tax returns
Preparing GST returns, WCB, T4s, and T5s
Processing payroll
Performing other ad-hoc tasks related to reception and financial statement assembly.

Required skills and experience:

2+ years of experience in public practice
Must be proficient with tax preparation software (iFirm, TaxPrep etc.), CaseWare and bookkeeping software (Sage 50, QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, etc.). Possess a solid understanding of basic bookkeeping , accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.
Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner
Understanding of personal and corporate tax
Experience preparing GST returns, T4 and T5 slips
Fluent with computers, including Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook). Hands on experience with data entry and spreadsheets, with a proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records with a high degree of accuracy.
Comfortable learning new software and adopting new approaches to solving problems.
Prior experience in agricultural accounting is an asset
Prior accounting education (including a diploma or certificate) is an asset
