Waste Control Service (WCS) is a private, locally owned, and operated recycling and waste management company offering solutions for sustainable management of all things waste. We offer collection services and consultation for both residential communities as well as commercial, industrial, and institutional organizations exclusively in the Greater Vancouver region. We have a head office and shop in Coquitlam B.C. and two recycling yards in North Vancouver where we primary process some of the recycling we regularly collect from our customers, which also operates as a recycling and secure shredding facility open to the community.

Who we are looking for:

Our team is implementing a large project and requires support in day-to-day operations. We are seeking an individual passionate about the environment to work out of our Coquitlam facility working 24 hours per week. Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, this person will be responsible for the accurate processing of payables. You will be the main contact for Suppliers inquiries relating to supplier invoices and payments. If you enjoy a challenge this is a role for you.

Responsibilities:

Resolve AP vendor issues and invoice discrepancies.
Build and maintain vendor relationships, respond to inquiries.
Work with purchaser to receive PO’s and receiving reports (packing slips) and maintain for matching to supplier invoices.
Match invoices with relevant documents, seek sign of as needed.
Code invoices and input into accounting software.
Prepare supplier cheques as required, ensure cheques are signed by authorized signatory and file cheque stubs and back up.
Review and investigate the validity of purchases.
Reconcile month end aged suppliers report to GL.
Prepare monthly credit card reconciliations.
Reconcile Intercompany Accounts.
Other duties as assigned.

To be Successful:

5 years’ experience in a similar role.
Ability to communicate courteously and professionally.
Demonstrated ability to recognize, analyze and resolve problems.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, establish priorities and meet deadlines.
Full Accounts Payable cycle experience
Experience with Sage an asset.
Inquisitive approach to expenses.
