Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team on a contract basis. This flexible, remote position allows you to set your own schedule. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of Canadian bookkeeping experience, be proficient in QuickBooks Online, and possess excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately record day-to-day financial transactions, including data entry and maintenance of records.
Conduct partial checks of transactions and subledgers.
Complete payroll processes in a timely manner.
Review and file government filings (e.g., WSIB, GST/HST, Source deductions).
Prepare adjusting entries for month-end reporting.
Provide clear feedback on the state of records, identify anomalies, and address queries.

Minimum Qualifications:

Canadian college diploma in bookkeeping or higher.
Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping experience in Canada.
QuickBooks Online Certification (via Intuit Canada); Advanced certification is an asset.
Experience in a CPA or bookkeeping firm is an asset.
Proficiency in Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
Strong understanding of basic bookkeeping principles.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
Excellent attention to detail and effective communication skills.

Additional Information:

This position is not suitable for individuals pursuing the CPA track. The contract will commence immediately and may lead to part-time employment with expanded responsibilities and hours.
