ABOUT THE ROLE

The Vice President of Finance will play a crucial role in shaping the financial direction of October’s Very Own Merchandising, overseeing all aspects of financial planning, analysis, reporting, and strategy. Reporting directly to the CFO/COO, the VP of Finance will provide strategic financial leadership, guidance, and support to ensure the long-term financial health and success of the company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Strategy and Planning:

Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies to support the company's growth objectives.
Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and objectives.
Evaluate and analyze financial performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and benchmarks, providing insights and recommendations to optimize financial outcomes.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

Oversee the preparation and distribution of accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses for internal stakeholders, executive management, and the Board of Directors.
Conduct regular financial reviews and variance analyses to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.

Treasury Management:

Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to optimize financial efficiency and stability.
Develop and implement strategies for cash forecasting, investment, and risk management.
Oversee banking relationships, debt financing, and capital structure initiatives.

Compliance and Risk Management:

Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and reporting requirements.
Establish and maintain effective internal controls, policies, and procedures to mitigate financial risks and safeguard company assets.
Coordinate audits and examinations by external auditors, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.

Leadership and Team Development:

Provide strong leadership and mentorship to the finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Recruit, develop, and retain top talent, building a high-performing finance organization capable of supporting the company's strategic objectives.
