As a valued member of our team, reporting directly to the Payroll and Benefits Supervisor you will collaborate closely with a dynamic group of payroll administrators and human resources professionals. Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) is required.

What You’ll Do

You’ll act with integrity to:

Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and independence in a non-partisan role
Ensure adherence to legislation and established policies and practices
Follow guidelines to safeguard and/or disclose information, as appropriate
Act professionally at all times when clarifying information, resolving issues or providing advice

You’ll support our collaboration as you:

Apply your expertise in payroll processes, practices, procedures, and methods to an assigned client group
Apply your knowledge of all facets of the pay and benefit administration, including data entry, payroll processing, maintaining benefits and pension enrolment, and attendance management
Assume responsibility for the calculation of severance entitlements, the preparation of ROEs, and departmental audits
Ensure the consistent interpretation and application of policies, guidelines, legislation and directives

How You Qualify

You demonstrate excellence through your:

Experience in payroll administration, coupled with your superior mathematical and problem-solving skills
Comprehensive knowledge of theory, standards, and practical applications of payroll processes
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, and proficiency in an integrated HRIS environment
Experience using an in-house payroll system is preferred
In-depth knowledge of, and experience with, year-end processes and general ledger postings
Solid experience working with policies, collective agreements and related legislation
Proven ability to multitask and organize work to meet competing deadlines
Sound knowledge of reference methods and resources
