As an Assistant Controller, a typical day might include the following:
- Responsible for full accounting cycle process;
- Post deals
- Coordinate month end close to ensure deals are received and posted by month end
- Monthly bank reconciliations and floor plan reconciliations
- Statistical Data Entry
- Reconcile Commissions
- Reconcile all Schedules
- Follow up on Contracts in Transit
- Reconcile Physical Inventory Counts
- Reconcile Gross Logs with Financial Statement
- Issue Cheques
- Responsible for overseeing AR, AP and Deal clerks
- Other duties, relevant to the position, will be assigned as necessary by controller.
This job might be right for you if:
- You have a valid G driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
- You must have minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
- You have experience in an automotive industry.
- A completed (or in the process of completing) accounting designation (CMA or CGA) would be a definite asset
- You must ensure the integrity, accuracy, timely completeness, and communication of internal financial statements while in compliance with company policies and government requirements.
- You have the ability to interact and communicate with all levels of the dealerships
- You are proficient in Reynolds & Reynolds.
- You have excellent written and oral skills and excellent computer/spreadsheet knowledge.
- You are able to work in a fast-paced environment with strong leadership qualities. You demonstrate multitasking abilities while working under pressure.
- You are self-motivated and driven. You volunteer for new challenges and responsibilities, all while maintaining high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm.
