Job Summary
Part of a group of companies, Drake Resources Ltd. is a small-scale forestry company, based out of the Lower Mainland of BC. We specialize in recycling logging wood fiber residuals by grinding them to create biomass products. We are seeking a full time Junior Accountant to become an integral part of our team. You will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting, including all aspects of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. You will be part of a growing team in a fast-paced environment, working closely with all office personnel, reporting directly to Senior Management and the President.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all accounts receivable, including processing and following up on overdue accounts
- Compiling cost summaries for non-contract work orders, including tracking labour and equipment costs
- Reconciling load statement summaries and invoicing as required
- Responsible for all accounts payable, including processing and following up on overdue accounts
- Oversee and assist with credit card management and reconciliations
- Oversee and assist with fuel card management and reconciliations
- Booking accommodations for employees on out-of-town projects
- Assist with equipment cost allocations and intercompany labour adjustments as directed
- Standardize and implement systems and processes to increase efficiency, accuracy and consistency
- Prioritize and maintain relationships with clients and key vendors
- Assist with rental equipment tracking as directed
- Completion of credit applications
- Maintain digital paper filing systems
Qualifications:
- University diploma in accounting/finance strongly preferred
- Experience in the forestry industry is preferred
- Full cycle accounting experience
- Experience with Sage 50 and Sage 100 Contractor preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, strong Excel skills
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills; punctuation and grammar skills are mandatory
- Must be a self starter with strong leadership qualities
- Great interpersonal skills and able to receive and give direction
- Team player with the ability to collaborate with others
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Deadline and detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Must love dogs
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
