This is a 12 months Maternity Leave Replacement Contract
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual government filings such as WSIB, EHT, in compliance with Federal and Provincial payroll laws and regulations
- Manage payroll function for two Canadian entities in the accurate processing of payroll (140 employees, ON, QC, AB)
- Management of the full payroll cycle, process bi-weekly payroll for all staff (hourly & salaried), and process payroll for commissions, expense reimbursements, bonus, and gifts etc.
- Ensure payroll calculation accuracy by monitoring, processing, validating and correcting digital and manual employee timesheets.
- Process new hire set ups, update and maintain employee data in the payroll system (vacation & sick time, RRSP contributions etc.), prepare record of employments and process termination payments.
- Ensure compliance with all governmental requirements (for remittances, legal deductions, garnishments, third party payments, etc.)
- Calculate vacation accrual amounts ensuring the accuracy of balance showing in the payroll system.
- Respond to payroll inquiries in a timely manner to internal customers
- Submit employee contributions to the RPP plan.
- Conducting Accounts Payable work in multiple currencies across inter-company transactions
- Provide general accounting support as required (AP/Data entry) & monthly reconciliations.
- Provide bi-weekly payroll report with updated vacation accruals and balances
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Conditions:
Salary between 58 K$ to 61 K$ per year, depending on experience and profile
Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Proficient with MS Excel - advanced level required
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Payroll or similar field
- Experience in Ceridian system is preferred.
- PCP certification is an asset.
- 3 years’ Canadian work experience in full cycle payroll processing
- Prior experience in managing multi-site & multi-province payroll processing
- Strong knowledge of federal, provincial & local tax laws
- Strong knowledge of payroll and tax reporting compliance requirements
- Strong ability to use internet solutions, accounting software, and digital reporting tools
- Excellent time management skills, strong work ethic, honest and ethical
- Proactive, resourceful and ability to multi-task
