ACCOUNTANT
We are seeking a dedicated remote Accountant to join our dynamic team in Nova Scotia. This role involves partnering with small to mid-sized businesses across diverse industries. Key Activities and Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing client bookkeeping and accounting records, financial statements, corporate and personal income tax returns.
- Reconciliation of accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Prepare T1's, T4s, T5s, HST and other compliance returns.
- Preparing management reports and financial analysis and memos to clients.
- Assist in preparing assurance engagements files including both reviews and audits.
- Communicating tax and accounting concepts to clients and answering their questions.
- CRA Correspondence and requests and audits – ensure your work is easy to audit.
- Adjusting Journal Entries, Working Papers, T2 Returns, and Compilation Engagement Financial Statements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Accounting/business diploma/certificate or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years experience in public accounting.
- Established experience in accounting cycle and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel and Quickbooks.
- Canadian tax knowledge – personal, corporate, and trust.
- Familiarity with Caseware, Sage, Xero, Tax Cycle, Wagepoint, Hubdoc and QBO Certification considered an asset.
