Job Summary:
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to join our team! In this dynamic role, you will work under the lead accountant, manage and monitor essential files, process financial entries, and handle invoices with precision using ADP and QBO. You’ll play a key part in maintaining our filing systems, ensuring accurate banking transactions, and supporting our sales and management teams. Monday- Friday: 8:30- 5:30
Weekend Availability:
This position may require weekend hours on an as-needed basis, typically once every quarter. Flexibility is appreciated, and we will provide advance notice whenever possible.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities:
- Enter and process financial entries and ensure accurate recording of transactions.
- Post transactions, prepare reports, and analyze data for the business overall or for specific departments.
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
- Organize and maintain all hard copies and soft copies files, including online orders and filing systems.
- Use ADP EZLabour, ADP TeamPay, QBO, and Google Drive for file management and accuracy.
- Oversee and ensure proper handling of sales data and documentation.
- Prepare required financial documents for audit purposes.
- Assist and report to the Lead Accountant
- Assist sales and management teams as needed.
- Learn and understand all company products and elements.
- Adhere to strict office work standards and ethics.
- Complete banking deposits and update records.
- Enter invoices into the accounting system for payment.
- Print, verify, and match vendor invoices with packing slips.
- Handle small and large projects independently or as part of a team.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in managing various tasks and coordinating with the supervisor’s schedule.
- Support a high-performance culture and maintain effective team communication with a positive attitude.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Must have a driver's license and own vehicle.
- High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred.
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper, accounting assistant, or similar role.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office (particularly Excel).
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and compliance procedures.
Nature and Scope:
- Applies established processes guided by clear rules, past practices, or provided instructions, consulting a supervisor for advice on non-routine matters. Management approval is sought for any deviations from standard procedures.
- Works under close supervision with limited latitude and independent judgment. Output undergoes detailed checks by senior management.
Pay Structure:
- Compensation begins at $22/hour. After a 90-day probationary period, your rate will increase to $23/hour, and you will become eligible for our benefits program. Following one year of service, your rate will rise to $24-$25/hour, with ongoing annual cost-of-living adjustments thereafter.

Education and Experience:
- Bookkeeping / Accounting administration: 1-2 years (required)
- High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred.
