We are a busy and growing dental practice committed to providing top-notch care to our patients. We are seeking a skilled Financial/Insurance Coordinator to join our team and manage the financial aspects of our practice. The ideal candidate will be experienced in handling patient claims, direct billing to insurance companies, posting patient payments, and assisting with overall financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Claims & Insurance Billing:
- Submit, track, and manage patient insurance claims.
- Perform direct billing to insurance companies for services rendered.
- Ensure accuracy in coding and billing procedures.
- Follow up with insurance companies regarding claim status and resolve any discrepancies.
- Payment Processing & Accounts Management:
- Post patient payments and adjustments to accounts in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate patient financial records, including balances, credits, and payment plans.
- Process patient deposits, payments, and refunds.
- Assist with managing patient payment plans and collections.
- Bank Reconciliation:
- Reconcile daily, weekly, and monthly bank statements to ensure all financial transactions are accounted for.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between bank accounts and practice records.
- Financial Reporting & Record Keeping:
- Prepare and maintain financial reports, including accounts receivable aging reports and insurance aging reports.
- Track and report on key performance indicators related to patient billing and collection efforts.
- Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure all billing practices comply with dental office protocols and insurance regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality and privacy of patient financial information.
- Other Administrative Duties:
- Assist with payroll, managing employee benefits, and other office financial tasks as needed.
- Provide financial support to management and other team members as required.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a financial coordinator, billing coordinator, or similar role is preferred.
- Knowledge of dental insurance procedures, claim submissions, and coding preferable
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, patient payment processes, and financial reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and practice management software.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with patients, insurance companies, and the dental team.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
