Airswift is seeking an Accounting Analyst II to join one of our major Oil & Gas clients in Chatham/North York, ON. This is an initial 1-year contract with a huge possibility of being extended. It’s a hybrid position, Wednesday and Friday working from home.
Accountabilities
- Prepare and support the creation of month-end closing journal entries, reporting system adjustments, system reconciliations, and end-user reports
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations
- Ensure the integrity of information interfaced between billing systems, reporting systems, and ERP systems
- Assist with maintaining, updating, and documenting internal control policies and procedures within the Finance Department.
- Provides valuable analysis and management reporting driving business decisions, on a periodic and ad-hoc basis
- Liaise with internal/external auditors on SOX processes and controls relating to sales
- Ensure adherence to key and non-key GDS Revenue SOX controls
- Provide support to other members of the team including cross training opportunities
- Develop and implement reporting practices and processes, identify and create efficiency opportunities, and apply best practices
- Identify areas of improvement in processes and related systems to increase efficiency
- Foster a continuous improvement culture
Qualifications
- University Degree (Business or Accounting preferred)
- Minimum 3-4 years of experience in a finance/accounting or other relevant experience

- Keen attention to detail and accuracy
- Sound analytical and problem-solving ability

- Superior computer skills including knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel
Work Schedule
- Monday-to-Friday
- 40 hours/week
- Hybrid: Wednesday and Friday working from home
- Required to work overtime during peak financial periods (monthly and quarterly close)
- Office environment; little to no travel
