We currently have an opening for an energetic and enthusiastic Senior Accountant who is a strong multi-tasker and ready to take on the challenges of a busy accounting office. This position will have advancement opportunities to grow with the firm.
Qualifications and Skills
- CPA designation
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant public accounting experience
- Excellent project management, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong time management, planning, and organizing skills.
- Self-motivation and a strong work ethic with an ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Experience with ASPE and ASNPO.
- Excellent client service skills with an aptitude to understand the clients' business and maintain strong client relationships.
- Dedication and motivation to achieve high standards of client service and professionalism in the performance of duties.
- Ability to follow Firm’s procedures and systems
- Experience working with accounting and tax software. Experience with Caseware and/or TaxCycle is an asset.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Preparation of working paper files and financial statements for assurance and compilation engagements.
- Preparation of corporate tax returns, trust returns and personal tax returns.
- Contributing to special projects and other related tasks
- Assisting clients with bookkeeping-related and other ad-hoc questions
- Liaise with CRA on tax related matters
- Mentor and train accounting staff
Schedule
Monday to Friday – 7.5 hours per day
½ day Fridays June to August
Overtime during T1 Personal Tax Season – March and April

Pay: $54,106.34-$80,000.00 per year
