Credit Administrator
Department/Branch: Credit Risk Management Department
Reporting to: Head and Manager of Credit Risk Management Department
Employment Type: 6-month Contract/Full-time Permanent
Location: Richmond Hill, Ontario
Major Responsibilities:
Take care the Bank’s security management. Take care credit file management. Monitoring and control credit assets or credit accounts.
Specific Accountabilities:
1. Manage Credit file
a) Closely monitor and follow up the loan outstanding documents on a monthly basis
b) Maintain the loan outstanding document database, update and ensure database accuracy on daily basis.
c) Maintain safekeeping security document database, including active file transferred out and closed file.
d) Check loan documents have been executed in a proper style.
e) Check supporting resolutions are complete and bear dates compatible with the executed documents.
f) Check material alterations in documents are properly initialed.
g) Check if documents are signed under corporate seal, the correct seal has been used.
h) Check insurance policies are valid and contain the appropriate loss payee clause or mortgagee clause, if applicable.
i) Ensure all security documents marked as required documents have been received.
j) Check Security documents have been properly registered, if required.
2. PPSA management
a) Maintain PPSA list. Updated and follow-up the expiring PPSA, sending the reminder reports to respective business units and then conduct PPSA renewal as per their instructions. Updated master database and conduct the requirement as per the CRMM after receiving original renewed PPSAs from the government.
b) Register new PPSA or discharge PPSA if any.
c) Provide copy of PPSA to business units and scan and upload to Image system.
3. Discharge and security management
a) Perform Discharge Related Issues, including double check the related loan has been fully repaid or partially repaid that under the Credit Proposal requirement, verify limit input, ensure the Charge registration number on the discharge letter/Acknowledgement and Direction is accurate, and then submit to Senior Management for sign-off. Register the discharge information in master database and updated the mortgage-charge database;
b) Handle release of pledged term deposit under the credit risk appetite if any;
c) Handle OD limit cancellation issue.
4. Monitoring the account performance
a) Reviews daily the "Loan Overdue Report" and "OD Excess Report"
b) Follow up with the relevant account officer for the recovery of payment past-due or overdraft limit exceeded, press the account officer to take suitable action when necessary
c) Downgrades the borrower’s grade and asset classification if loan repayments past-due or overdraft limit exceeded meets certain criteria, upon approval from relevant approval party.
5. Monitoring risk events
a) Handle the Equifax Suspicious Reports on weekly bases; requesting front line for feedback and send to management for notice or review/comment.
6. Other Credit Administration
a) Verify prepayment penalty for prepayment request
b) Perform AR Margin Calculation if any.
c) Maintain imaging system to modify or delete documents in imaging system.
d) Act as Supervisor of the Equifax credit search users of all branches and related Account Officers of ICBC (Canada), responsibilities include monitoring the number of users in each branch/department, adding or deleting users from the user list, resetting user Ids and applying a digital certificate when required;
e) Settle Equifax invoice and prepare internal memo to allocate the search costs to relevant business units.
f) Handle Equifax statement of accounts related issues.
g) Provide training to front lines for the area related to this position.
h) Handling other work as instructed by the Manager, Head of Department or senior management.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree or above majored in Finance, Business, or relevant fields.
- At least 2 years of work experience in banking industry, specializing in corporate, commercial, and residential lending is preferred.
- Must adhere profession ethic requirement.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and good time management;
- Solid organizational and analytical skills with high attention to details.
- Knowledge in regulatory and compliance requirements, as well as the Bank’s policies;
- Excellent on PC software packages, e.g. Word Excel, and Power Point etc.
- Knowledge in checking loan documents for deficiencies or irregularities.
