We are seeking an experienced and strategic CFO/General Manager to join our leadership team. This role is crucial for overseeing the financial operations of our company, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving financial performance. The CFO/General Manager will work closely with the CEO and other senior leaders to support business development, growth initiatives, and operational excellence.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s growth and profitability.
- Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals, including HR/Accounting Manager and Project Coordinators.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
- Lead the preparation of financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems.
- Support business development activities, including raising capital and managing investor relations.
- Oversee rent collection and financial management of commercial properties.
- Implement automated accounting systems and other financial technologies.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of financial goals with overall business objectives.
- Train and oversee staff for reconciliation and journal entries.
- Manage financial presentations and government funding initiatives.
- Develop corporate policies, accounting systems, HR systems, and internal business systems.
- Ensure the financial health of the company by managing profit and loss, and maintaining budget plans.
- Lead efforts in project-based financing and proforma development.
- Establish and maintain relationships with external parties, including investors, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (MBA or Master's preferred).
- Professional designations such as CPA, or CFA required.
- Over fifteen (15) years of experience in finance, with a strong background in real estate, construction, and technology.
- Proven track record of managing financial operations in a startup environment.
- Experience with automated accounting systems and ERP software (e.g., SAGE).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Willingness to travel frequently to understand operations and build relationships with key personnel.
- Entrepreneurial mindset is beneficial for identifying opportunities and implementing innovative solutions.
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
