Job Summary
We are seeking a detailed orientated Bookkeeper/Accountant & Administrative Assistant to join our team! In this role you will be responsible for maintaining the financial health of the business by managing day-to-day accounting operations. This role ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with tax regulations, and the overall organization of financial records. In addition to core bookkeeping duties, this role also offers administrative support and support with payroll.

Responsibilities
Accounting/Bookkeeping:
- Maintain all financial records, ensuring accuracy in accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations to validate cash balances and financial records.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analyses.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting, providing regular updates to management on variances and financial performance.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Plooto etc. for various financial tasks.
- Ensure the company meets all local, provincial, and federal tax regulations.
- Prepare supporting documentation for tax filings and coordinate with external tax professionals as required.
- Track and report annual dues including WCB & EHT.
- Maintain awareness of changes in tax laws that could impact the business.
- Manage vendor relationships, ensuring accurate and timely payment of bills, while regularly reconciling accounts.
- Manage Staff, Subcontractors & Contractor relationships, ensuring accurate and timely payment of earnings, including wages, gratuities, vacation pay, and incidental payments including reimbursements, and retro/additional payroll related payments, and tracking accordingly.
- Oversee purchasing and expense reporting processes, ensuring correct coding and timely processing.
Administration:
- Provide general administrative support, including organizing records, maintaining the filing system, and scheduling meetings for financial reviews or other purposes.
- Assist with document preparation, financial analysis, and ad-hoc reporting for the General Manager and other key stakeholders as required.
- Assist with the processing of payroll via our payroll software.
- Track employee vacation, sick days, and other entitlements, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
- Oversee benefits administration, ensuring employees' health plans and other benefits are correctly processed and managed.
Experience
- Training in Accounting/Bookkeeping or proven experience as working as bookkeeper for a minimum of 2 years
- Familiarity with accounting principles and practices is essential.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks,, or similar tools is essential
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving are crucial for success in this position.
Salary and Shifts:
- This is a work from home position, with the requirement to come and work onsite for annual/monthly team meetings as required.
- Starting rate between $25-35 dependent on training and/or experience.
- 30-40 hours per week
- Monday-Friday
- 8 hour shifts

- Must have a reliable car to travel to Keefer for onsite work-days
- Staff accommodation and meals are provided for onsite work days
- Must be fluent in the English language
- Must be Legally authorized to work in Canada
