Responsible for managing daily operations within the accounting team, specifically accounts payable and internal auditing. Direct supervision of the accounting assistants responsible for accounts payable and internal audits by assigning tasks, providing guidance and training, and ensuring they meet deadlines for accounts payable and internal audits. In addition, they are responsible for safeguarding the company's financial assets by implementing and enforcing strong internal controls and staying updated on relevant accounting laws and regulations.
Manage accounts payable and internal auditing processes to ensure timely and accurate payment of functional and operational transactions in accordance with CLC’s policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Maintains data integrity by applying proper taxation in compliance with the policies and guidelines of Canada Revenue Agency and CLC, including the company’s Delegation of Authority policy. Provide an assortment of reporting on Revenue, Attendance, and other performance indicators with data from POS systems and applicable financial systems.
Detailed General Ledger (GL) account analysis and reconciliation. Preparation and posting of standard journal entries and conduct periodic cash audits.
Tests CNT Operators compliance with established Finance internal controls. Ensures CN Tower is compliant with regulations, policies, and procedures applicable to financial reporting and operations.
Manage 3-4 accounting employees

A post-secondary degree or diploma in Business, Finance or Accounting is required.

A professional accounting designation, CPA, is preferred

A minimum of five (5) years of progressive accounting experience is required, including at least three (3) years of supervisory experience.
- Experience with retail store or food and beverage specific accounting is an asset.
- Knowledge of JD Edwards financial system and Hubble software, an asset.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications such as excel, words, powerpoint, visio and power automate workflows is an asset.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.

Must possess excellent accounting skills to ensure accuracy.
