Position
Firm Capital is looking for a Corporate Accountant to grow with the organization. This position will provide accounting support to corporate accounting team. It is a great opportunity for accounting professionals to develop fully cycle accounting experience.
Your new role
- Perform in-depth calculations for a variety of revenue income generated from assets under administration, including but not limited to property management fees and asset management fees
- Coordinate with mortgage and real estate departments to ensure timely billing and collection of various income
- Process corporate payables and process internal billings for cost recoveries for related entities
- Prepare reconciliations and filings for government remittances including but not limited to harmonized sales tax (HST) and corporate taxes;
- Prepare monthly and annual financial reporting packages including bank reconciliations, GL reconciliations, and identify adjusting journal entries to ensure accuracy of general ledger
- Provide ad-hoc analysis and perform other responsibilities and duties to support senior management as assigned
What you need to succeed
- A minimum 2 years’ working experience preferably in real estate and/or financial service environments
- University degree or college diploma in accounting, finance, or business
- A self-starter, results driven team player and committed professional with analytical,
- problem solving skills
- Strong attention to detail, prioritization and meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced
- entrepreneurial environment
- Strong verbal and communication skills; Must be fluent in English (written and oral)
- Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office with extensive Excel skills
- Experience with Yardi Voyager is an asset.
