Reporting to the Manager, Accounts Payable, the Accounts Payable Advisor is responsible to support facility managers and support office employees with all accounts payable processes, capital vouchers and employee expense related issues and payments, proactively identifying opportunities to improve, develop and maintain procedures for payable processes.
This position will be based at our Head Office in Markham, Ontario, with flexibility for in-office work as part of our hybrid work model.
Accountabilities
- Review and generate invoices from the supplier invoice requests processed by office managers at our facilities.
- Verify that the coding and data entry of supplier invoice requests are free from data entry errors and comply with our accounting policies.
- Process the PO and the Non-PO invoices for our corporate facilities.
- Manage the bi-weekly EFT and cheque runs and assist in mailing out the cheques.
- Prepare vendor cheques for mailing.
- Follow the AP workflow to ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
- Liaison with internal stakeholders such as Procurement, IT, home admin staff to ensure timely processing of invoices.
- Responding to any queries from internal/external stakeholders received through our Ticketing system or shared services mailbox.
- Other projects and tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications and Experience
- Completion of Post-Secondary Education in finance or accounting field.
- 2-3 years of Accounts Payable experience.
- Experience with Workday will be strongly preferred.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a high-volume and fast paced environment.
- Team player with ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite with mid-level Excel skills.
