Our client, a rapidly-growing custom furniture manufacturer based in North York is looking for a Financial Controller to join the team!
You will be responsible for overseeing all financial / operational aspects of the business. You will take ownership of the company’s financial systems, establish processes, and provide leadership in areas of accounting, cash flow management, and financial reporting. This role is perfect for someone who is highly motivated, enjoys taking initiative, and wants to grow alongside a dynamic company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set Up Financial Systems: Establish and implement financial systems and processes to support the company’s continued growth and evolving needs.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present bi-weekly financial reports, including cash flow projections, financial statements, and variance analysis.
- Payroll Management: Process and manage the payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local regulations.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Oversee and process all AP/AR functions, ensuring accurate and timely payments and receivables.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Work with leadership to develop and maintain annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Deep Financial Analysis: Conduct an annual deep dive into the company’s financial performance, identifying key trends, opportunities, and risks to help inform business strategy.
- Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow on a bi-weekly basis, ensuring the company’s liquidity and financial health.
- Compliance & Taxation: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, including tax filings, audits, and reporting standards.
- US Sales Tax Compliance: Manage the compliance and timely payment of US sales taxes across different states and ensure accurate reporting of taxes for the company’s US-based projects.
- System Familiarity: Work with and maintain systems like QuickBooks / Microsoft Dynamics to manage the company’s finances efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Dynamics.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Experience with US sales tax compliance and reporting.
