Overview
We are seeking our next Accountant to manage and process various accounting tasks to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This role involves handling employee expenses, credit card transactions, payroll processing, and assisting in tax return preparations, all within QuickBooks Online. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn and adapt.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and review expense summaries and supporting documents from employees.
- Create invoices through QBO and perform bank reconciliation on a regular basis
- Enter expenses incurred on various credit cards into QBO.
- Categorize expenses appropriately for accurate financial reporting.
- Create summaries of expenses by vendor to assist in preparing cheques.
- Generate purchase orders in QBO as needed.
- Reconcile imported transactions in QBO by identifying their nature.
- Collaborate with team members to trace the source of unidentified transactions.
- Generate expense and income categorization reports from QBO.
- Assist in the preparation of GST/HST returns.
- Process and update payroll, ensuring compliance with CRA requirements.
- File necessary reports, including EHT, PD7, and T4, in a timely manner.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the accounting department.
Skills and Qualifications:

- Openness to learning new concepts and adapting to change.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, preferably working towards an advanced degree.
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online.
- Proficiency in full-cycle accounting, including Accounts Payable (A/P), Accounts Receivable (A/R), and bank reconciliation.
- Practical knowledge of payroll processing and CRA requirements.
- Strong understanding of financial statements.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience using QuickBooks Online and MS Excel.
