HireLoft Recruitment is currently seeking a Payroll Specialist on behalf of our client for a full-time, on-site opportunity located in Concord, Ontario. If you have 2+ years of payroll experience with a strong background in a unionized environment, we encourage you to apply!
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate and timely bi-weekly payroll processing for salaried and hourly employees.
- Handle union dues, benefits adjustments, and remittances for multiple unionized groups.
- Process new hire onboarding and employee terminations, including preparation of ROEs and garnishments.
- Reconcile and submit remittances for WSIB, EHT, and union benefits across multiple provinces.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records in accordance with company policies and statutory requirements.
- Assist with year-end reconciliations for T4 purposes and ensure all records are audit-ready.
- Collaborate with HR and other departments to address payroll-related inquiries and discrepancies.
- Utilize Ceridian Powerpay and Excel for payroll management, reporting, and analysis.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of payroll experience, preferably in a unionized setting.
- Experience with Ceridian Powerpay.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and Outlook.
- Completion of payroll courses or a Payroll Certification is a strong asset.
This role offers a competitive salary of $55,000 - $60,000, with opportunities for growth as the organization continues to expand.
