JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Controller, the Accounts Receivable Specialist is a key player on the finance team. You will be responsible for the full accounts receivable cycle, from invoicing to cash receipts.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and distribute contract invoices, including holdback invoices
- Compare contract amount for billing purposes, including change orders to original documents
- Complete and distribute certificates of insurance and statutory declarations for contractors
- Communicate with sub-trades and collect, review and approve invoices for billing
- Collection of overdue invoices
- Enter deposits and apply payments in accounting system;
- Make recommendations to improve quality of invoicing and collection procedures
- Ah-hoc projects as required for the Controller

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Bilingualism is an asset
- Ability to work independently as well in a team based environment
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Strong analytical/problem solving skills
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Post-secondary education or equivalent accounting experience
- Approximately five years’ work experience in accounts receivable including billing and collection
- Experience in the construction industry an asset
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Knowledge of Jonas systems an asset
