MPA has been retained by a leading Canadian Family Office/Business Advisory firm to recruit a Sr. Bookkeeper, Investments to join their team in Toronto.
This Sr Bookkeeper must have experience with investment write-up and public accounting.
A day in the life of a Senior Bookkeeper:
- Investment bookkeeping including reconciliation with broker statements and tax reporting slips.
- Full cycle accounting including A/P, A/R, bank and credit card reconciliation and month end journal entries.
- Preparation of supporting documents for year-end preparation for internal accounting team
- Preparation and filing of HST/GST returns
- Preparation of payroll schedules and related source deduction.
- Other Government reporting including EHT and WSIB.
- Correspondence with Canada Revenue Agency, as required.
- What we are looking for:
University degree or college diploma.
- Investment bookkeeping (a must)
- 3 to 5 years of relevant bookkeeping experience
- QuickBooks skills are a must have as well as knowledge and experience in a variety of software applications including Caseware, Caseview, Write Up, Tax Prep, Excel and other MS Office Applications.
- Have a self-starter attitude with well-developed time management skills and the commitment to meeting deadlines
- Have proven problem solving capabilities including ingenuity, analytical skills and creativity
- Possess exceptional technical skills and a fine attention to detail
- Have strong interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to organize, prepare and clearly present information to our clients and team
- Public accounting experience will be a definite plus.
