We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Clerk in Kemptville, Ontario. As part of our team, your role will be vital in maintaining our financial records, including donations, and ensuring high levels of organizational effectiveness. You will be working in the non-profit sector and your skills in account reconciliation, data entry, and QuickBooks will be essential.
Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and efficient processing of customer credit applications.
- Maintain and manage donor databases, following up on payments and dealing with donor base donations.
- Conduct regular account reconciliation, ensuring all financial data is correct.
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable duties to ensure timely payment of invoices and accurate recording of all transactions.
- Utilize QuickBooks for various accounting tasks and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the software.
- Perform data entry tasks with high levels of accuracy.
- Assist in budget administration by preparing budget updates.
- Resolve customer inquiries quickly and efficiently.
- Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary.
- Use Microsoft Excel, Oracle, SAP and other tools to manage and analyze financial data
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Accounting Clerk role or similar position
- Proficiency in account reconciliation and invoice processing
- Solid understanding of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)
- Familiarity with billing processes and procedures
- Proven experience with data entry tasks
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for various accounting tasks
- Experience with Oracle is desirable
- Knowledge of QuickBooks and SAP for managing accounting tasks
- Ability to manage budgets and maintain donor databases
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills
- Strong work ethic and high level of integrity
