This is a 4 day a week in office opportunity from Monday to Thursday and is based out of Dentalcorp’s Toronto Support Centre. Reporting directly into the Finance Manager, your primary responsibility will entail comprehensive accounting support across our network of dental practices and support centre departments.
In this role, you will
- Coordinate the preparation of fixed assets capitalization
- Maintain accurate records of monthly amortization journal entries
- Prepare monthly expense allocations and ensure proper classifications
- Review expenses to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standards
- Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Perform corporate bank reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial records
- Assist in balance sheet and income statement reviews
- Provide support for year-end inventory counts and assist in fulfilling audit requests
- Collaborate with departments to ensure monthly expense are accrued accordingly
- Assist in executing various internal control protocols to uphold the integrity of financial operations and ensure compliance with company policies
- Perform other various month-end and year-end ad hoc activities as needed
What we're looking for
- University Degree or Diploma in Accounting or Finance
- Strong understanding of GAAP and IFRS standards
- Ideally 2 to 3 years experience in a similar role/environment
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- A self-starter, highly positive can-do attitude in a rapidly changing environment
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel (pivot tables and look-ups), Word and PowerPoint).
- Detail-oriented with a high level of efficiency and accuracy.
- Motivated to take on new challenges
- Excellent communication skills and a “people person”
