Description
We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Bookkeeper in the automotive industry, located in Perth, Ontario. The role involves a variety of responsibilities related to financial record-keeping, including processing checks, payroll, and other bookkeeping tasks. This role is ideal for individuals who are proficient in account reconciliation and familiar with various accounting software such as QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the processing of checks and ensure accuracy in all transactions.
- Manage payroll duties for a small team, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time.
- Conduct regular account reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records.
- Utilize QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel for various bookkeeping tasks.
- Carry out the processing of GST and HST, ensuring all transactions comply with relevant laws and regulations.
- Perform regular data entry tasks to maintain up-to-date and accurate financial records.
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable duties, ensuring all financial obligations are met and incoming payments are recorded.
- Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial records.
- Manage month-end close processes, ensuring all financial records are up-to-date.
- Maintain accurate customer credit records and take appropriate action when necessary
Requirements
- Must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in a bookkeeping role
- Proficient in account reconciliation and data entry tasks
- Experience with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) management
- Skilled in conducting bank reconciliations
- Previous experience in bookkeeping is essential
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for financial tasks and reporting
- Experience in month-end close procedures
- Demonstrated ability to manage payroll
- Proficiency in using QuickBooks for accounting tasks
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
