The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of payroll administration and will be serving as the primary point of contact for all payroll-related inquiries.
Responsibilities
- Manages and administers bi-weekly payrolls in accordance with deadlines
- Ensures that payroll is processed efficiently, effectively, and accurately
- Manages and oversees payroll, including quarterly and annual tax returns, T’4s, amendments, prior years’ discrepancies, and audits.
- Works closely with HR and finances
- Manages benefits administration and enrolment
- Upholding payroll data integrity
- Point of contact for payroll and benefit inquiries
- Supporting with system upgrades, changes or implementations
- Ad hoc duties as required
Qualifications
- CPP, CPM, or other related professional certifications are an asset
- Proficiency with payroll processing; changes, adjustments, answering inquiries and reconciliations
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or related field
- 5+ years of payroll experience is required
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Sound written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with either ADP or Ceridian is required (or both)
- Proactive in handling confidential business matters and information with discretion
- Knowledge of payroll procedures and related laws
