Job Description
- Reporting to the Director of Finance and Business Support (DOF), responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Prepare and provide accurate and complete financial and management reports on a timely basis, in accordance with the company reporting requirements including month end balance sheet account reconciliations and income statement analysis.
- Prepare and post daily journal and month end journal entries, ensuring efficient completion of month-end functions.
- Develop an engaged, enthusiastic and guest driven department and recruit, develop, evaluate and motivate the team.
- Partner with the company Centralized Accounting System Delivery team to ensure accurate and timely process of Accounts Payable, Income Audit workflow, month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and procedures spearheading self-audit protocols and manage internal and external audits by implementing recommended compliance report action plans with operations leadership.
- Assist in the effective utilization and integration of hotel and accounting technology systems, including software applications, current and future.
- Develop key relationships with respective Department Heads and senior managers to provide financial support and understanding of short and long term financial plans.
- Participate in the creation of the Annual Operating, Capital Budgets, Strategic Plan and Monthly Rolling Operating Forecasts.
- Lead the labour management process within the organization. Design and implement procedures that improve the accuracy of working schedules, labor standards, forecast, plans to assist operational staff. Monitor on an ongoing basis the accuracy and recommend correct measurements as necessary.
- Assist the DOF in safe keeping of all leases and contracts and any other legal records and documents.
- Prepare and file various statutory returns including sales and payroll taxes.
- Salary starting at $75,250CAD
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience. Working towards an accounting designation an asset.
- 3+ years progressive work-related experience in multiple areas of accounting and reporting, financial and/or business analysis, accounting, or a related area, several years managing multi-discipline teams and/or complex projects.

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to): Frequent standing and walking. Occasional bending and kneeling. Occasional lifting and carrying up to 20lbs. Occasional pushing and pulling.
Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
