Job Description
What will you work on?
The accountant is responsible for preparing and processing voice talents, writers and vendor payments of SME’s productions. This position is a full-time position, located in Toronto, Ontario and reports directly to the Director, Entertainment Finance.
How will you create impact?
- Create and input ACTRA time sheets and all related data entry for active production companies in Smart Accounting and EPOL
- Liaise with EP Canada on Cast and Crew payroll and reconcile fringe reports in Smart Accounting
- Process writer’s payments including calculating fringes and benefits
- Maintain, prepare, and reconcile talent and union payments
- Inputting weekly payments for active shows in both Smart Accounting and banking platform
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliation of inactive productions
- Prepare and file HST returns for active and inactive shows
- Liaise with parent company accounts payable in processing wire and ACH payments
- Assist and liaise with production accountant in preparing month end journals entries
- Provide support and assistance to talent payment for development projects
What are your skills and experience?
- Experience in accounts payable and account reconciliations is preferred
- Knowledge of production union and fringe deductions is an asset
- Knowledge of Smart Accounting, EPOL and EP Live is an asset
