Reporting directly to the Assistant Controller the Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for acquiring and processing invoices and expense claims and arranging payments to vendors and/or customers.
As an Accounts Payable Specialist, your main responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

Processing vendor invoices against received and accepted inventory

Review employee expense claims for accuracy and compliance followed by ensuring payment is made through payroll in a timely manner

Reconcile and process corporate American Express travel account monthly

Maintain and reconcile a Return to Vendor listing and analyze aging items while working with Supply Chain to determine a course of action

Assist with month end processes including maintaining Accounts Payable subledger and reconciling Accounts Payable suspense accounts

Prepare and submit wire requests and update ledger with adjustments

Clear receipts related to purchase orders paid for by credit cards and update ledger with adjustments

Maintain vendor files and communicate status of payments as required
What you require to be successful in the role:
-
Possession of a Diploma Business Administration with a focus in accounting from a recognized post‑secondary institution or equivalent years of experience

A minimum of three (3) years of experience in an accounts payable function

Experience work with an integrated accounting software
-
Demonstrated financial analysis skills are required
-
Excellent communication, customer service, and time management skills
-
Effective team player with highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to interface well with people of different disciplines and levels
