Deposit Clerk
(4 Month Contract)
United Way Greater Toronto is looking for an experienced, organized, and efficient Deposit Clerk to join our team at our Toronto office.
Reporting to the Associate Manager, Gift and Data Processing, the Deposit Clerk is responsible for accurately and efficiently preparing funds for deposit to various bank accounts.
What you’ll do:
- Reconcile cash, cheque and credit card amounts against the deposit reconciliation forms
- Examine cheques to verify information such as: date, signature, amount, correct payee, and other such legalities
- Count currency, coins, and cheques received, by hand or using currency-counting machine, to prepare them for deposit
- Deposit summary fund transactions in UWGT CRM system to record against transactions and enable tax receipts
- Generate, compile, and maintain deposit reports and records
- Identify any transaction inaccuracies and correct or escalate
- Resolve problems or discrepancies concerning donations
- Sort and file related documentation
- Assist with other campaign projects and duties as required
What you’ll need to be successful:
- Experience in handling cash preferred
- Reconciliation experience
- MS Office, including Excel
- Strong numerical ability
- Good listening and communication skills
- Demonstrates experience in accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to identify and solve simple problems
- Demonstrates honesty and integrity
- Ability to provide sound judgment
- Ability to handle high stress levels at busy times
- Good organizational skills
- Willingness to actively contribute to the organizational equity framework through participation in learning opportunities and implementing anti-oppressive, and anti-racist learning into action internally and externally
