Our well-established client in the food industry is seeking an Accounts Payable and Payroll Supervisor to join their team on an onsite contract basis. Reporting directly to the Controller, is responsible for overseeing all operations related to Accounts Payable and Payroll. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all financial obligations are met promptly and that payroll is processed accurately and efficiently, while also serving as the main point of contact for all payroll-related inquiries.
Accounts Payable Responsibilities:
- Conduct three-way matching for inventory invoices.
- Oversee all payment disbursements, including Cheques, EFTs, and Wires.
- Process and manage employee expense reports.
- Prepare and submit HST and QST filings.
- Address vendor inquiries and nurture positive relationships with suppliers.
- Perform thorough due diligence when onboarding new vendors.
- Prepare and post monthly AP accruals.
- Reconcile Accounts Payable General Ledger with the Subledger.
- Collaborate with Financial Analysts on intercompany reconciliation as required.
Payroll Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary contact for employees regarding payroll matters.
- Prepare the payroll report using UKG Pro WFM before the weekly payroll cycle.
- Set up new employees in the Kronos Time and Attendance system.
- Reconcile all payroll-related General Ledger accounts.
- Maintain and reconcile schedules for accrued payroll liabilities.
- Assist in bank reconciliation by comparing the payment register from AS400 with the bank statement.
- Gather necessary information to calculate and process hourly bonus payouts.
- Maintain and update headcount and seniority lists for hourly employees.
- Support Year-End Audit activities.
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Business or Accounting, or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in Accounts Payable management.
- 3-5 years of experience in Payroll administration.
- Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset.
- Familiarity with AS400 and UKG Pro WFM .
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and supervisory abilities.
- High attention to detail.
- Effective time management skills.
