Job Description:
NDura Development Ltd. is looking for a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with a keen eye for accuracy. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and balance accounts using both manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
- Record and reconcile journal entries, manage general ledgers, and prepare financial statements.
- Track and process payments for utility bills, taxes, payroll, and other business expenses.
- Foster strong relationships with clients through timely invoicing, payment follow-ups, and resolving financial discrepancies.
- Coordinate with suppliers to manage inventory, payments, and address any account-related issues.
- Apply for and manage supplier credit accounts, ensuring timely submission of credit applications and adherence to terms.
- Monitor and maintain records of credit agreements to ensure prompt supplier payments and maintain good credit standing.
- Complete and submit tax remittance forms, workers' compensation forms, pension contribution forms, and other regulatory documents.
- Prepare and file GST/HST returns, T4s, and other supplementary tax-related documents.
- Calculate and prepare payroll cheques, ensuring timely and accurate payments to employees.
- Manage payroll tax deductions and submit necessary forms to government bodies.
- Assist with budgeting by tracking expenses and analyzing costs to support project finances.
- Provide financial reports and insights to help management make informed decisions.
- Assist in preparing documents for internal and external audits.
- Ensure all records are organized, accurate, and compliant with government regulations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of Canadian bookkeeping experience.
- At least 1 year of experience in construction accounting, with an understanding of construction stages, terminology, and project accounting.
- Proficiency in accounting software, specifically QuickBooks Online.
- Accounting Diploma or Degree preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
