Your Role on our Team: We are looking for a dynamic Senior Financial Analyst to join our team. If you are naturally curious, can think outside the box, like to dig into the details, and are able to build strong working relationships, this position is for you. In this role, you will gain an in-depth understanding of the development process from land acquisition to the end of the warranty and everything in between.
In this role, you will:
- Assemble detailed financial reporting for a portfolio of real estate projects through the use of Newstar, Procore, and Excel.
- Ensure all project pro-forma information, forecasts, and cash flow projections are prepared accurately and are accompanied by variance reports detailing changes to the project.
- Support construction, sales, and development teams in the creation and monitoring of project budgets and cash flows to ensure target metrics are achieved.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly management reporting for internal purposes, partners, and lenders.
- Prepare required schedules and monthly draws for construction financing.
- Monitor financial performance, project timelines, and identify risks and opportunities.
- Under the direction of the Manager, read various joint venture legal agreements and assist in the creation of the appropriate cost and reporting structures within Newstar.
- Under direction of the Manager, prepare calculations in accordance with the terms and conditions of various legal agreements and prepare any required reporting.
- Participate in the annual budgeting process.
- Other duties within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job, as requested by management.
We would like you to have:
- Post-secondary education (Bachelor's Degree or Master's) with a concentration in accounting, real estate, and/or finance
- 5+ years of experience
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Power BI is an asset
- Knowledge of SQL and InformXL is an asset
- Knowledge of Newstar is an asset
- Knowledge of the real estate/development industry is considered an asset
