Harvard Developments has an immediate opening for a qualified Controller, Corporate Accounting and Taxation to join our dedicated, forward-thinking team in Regina. Reporting to the CFO, this position will be responsible for the oversight of the accounting and taxation functions of our Canadian real estate group of companies. The role incumbent will also provide support to the CFO for various special projects such as analysis, ad hoc reporting, contributing to corporate financing initiatives or due diligence for future acquisitions.

This position will be primarily responsible for:
- overseeing the preparation and filing of corporate and other tax returns, ensuring tax compliance and reporting, tax planning and developing tax strategy for the companies and their principals;
- the supervision of an accounting team;
- oversee accounting records and documentation, intercompany accounts, accounts receivable and payable subledgers, weekly cheque runs, and GST/HST and other filings for a group of companies;
- overseeing the preparation of semi-annual and annual financial statements and budgets; and
- supervision of external audits.
Preference will be given to an individual who possesses:
- Post-secondary degree and/or professional designation in Finance or Accounting is required.
- CPA designation.
- Completion of the CPA’s In-Depth Tax Program.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- 5+ years of progressive financial responsibility with extensive knowledge of accounting methods and tax laws in related industry is ideal.
- Highly proficient with accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Multitasker with experience working with multiple entities and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, team environment.
- Effective communication skills and ability to build strong relationships.
- Professional, organized, analytical, detailed oriented and enjoys solving complex tax and accounting issues.
