Toys “R” Us Canada, proud to be Canadian owned and operated, has a full-time opportunity for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Reporting to the President, the CFO will collaborate with the President and Owner to make decisions regarding the Company's financial strategy and operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience as a financial executive with a strong background in finance and accounting.
As a trusted advisor, the Chief Financial Officer CFO, is a key business partner responsible for providing financial guidance and counsel on all matters relating to the finance functions including strategic business planning, budgeting and forecasting, business analysis, and corporate growth strategies.
The CFO will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to the Finance, Technology, Real Estate, Construction, Facilities and Procurement teams. They will focus on the planning, development and management of these functions, while overseeing all financial reporting and results of the Company.

Requirements:
- Develop and execute comprehensive financial strategies to drive profitability and growth
- Lead and direct the finance team, providing clear objectives, guidance, and support to foster a collaborative and results-driven culture
- Analyze company's financial results and forecasts with respect to profits, trends, costs and compliance with budgets and communicate with the President, Owner and Leadership Team
- Monitors monthly, quarterly, and annual cash flow schedules to ensure the effective management of the Company’s cash flow to meet organizational needs
- Working in partnership with the President, manage financial relationships/contracts with vendors and suppliers
- Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and other financial institutions,
- Ownership of all government reporting, compliance, audit, regulatory issues related to the financial operation of the business.
- Lead the Real Estate function including providing expertise and long-term planning on commercial leases and other real estate property matters; review and analysis terms and negotiations for all leases for new stores and renewals prior to their execution, working with landlords and legal
- Work with in-house Legal Counsel to monitor major contracts, and/or new program activities for loss and insurance implications; regulatory compliance and other legal matters arising from Toys“R”Us business initiatives.
- Lead the Facilities and Procurement functions for all non-merchandising products, and services nationally to ensure cost optimization.
- Oversees the Logistics function including the overall strategy, budget, and operational performance. Monitor performance of internal and external teams including KPI’s productivity, quality metrics and efficiencies of the Distribution Centre operations
Qualifications:
- Designated CPA with proven experience (10+ years) in an executive financial leadership role, preferably as a CFO, with a successful track record of driving financial performance and growth in the retail industry.
- Proven track record of strategic financial planning, analysis, and management within the retail industry
- In-depth knowledge of corporate finance, financial planning, and financial analysis
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams towards achieving strategic objectives
