Position Summary
Reporting to the Controller, the Accounts Payable clerk is required to perform their duties in a manner consistent with Dixon Hall’s Mission, Vision and Values and ensure safety, and demonstrate customer service excellence. This position is to provide financial and administrative support for the organization focusing on, but not limited to, accounts payable.
Duties and Responsibilities-
Verify and process invoices and employee expense reimbursements on a timely basis in accordance with Dixon Hall’s approval process and legislation.

Back up the processing of corporate credit card invoices and utility bills in accordance with Dixon Hall’s approval process and legislation.

Process bi-weekly cheque runs, direct deposits and ad-hoc urgent payments.

Address billing/payment inquiries and resolve any discrepancies which will include regular communications with staff and vendors.

Gather, track, and file invoices with all related back up.

Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms.

Assist with reviewing, processing, and reconciling employees’ floats on regular basis.

Back up for TTC/Presto and taxi chit processes.

Support annual audit.

Other duties as required.
Qualifications-
Post-Secondary degree/diploma in an accounting-finance program.

3+ years related experience in a similar role.

Understands compliance issues around accounts payable processing.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Superior time management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities.

Detail oriented, consistently accurate and ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Ability to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision.

Ability to be flexible and to take initiative.

Experience in software currently used by the Agency (i.e. ADAGIO Accounting Software, and MS Outlook.)

Excellent computer skills including a working knowledge of evaluation and research software (MS Office applications).

Strong written and verbal English Language communication skills with a robust ability to exchange knowledge. Fluency in additional languages will be considered an asset.

Superior organizational, analytical, problem-solving abilities; Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines, prioritize, take initiative.

Self-directed and independent, as well as proven experience in working effectively as an inter-disciplinary team member and in collaboration with other community professionals.

Must be qualified to work in Canada legally for the employer.

Able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Screening check with a ‘Clear’ or satisfactory result that meets the operational requirements of the Agency.

Must have up-to-date vaccinations against COVID-19 with a vaccine that has been approved for use in Canada.
