About the Position
We are a growing company and seeking an organized and detail-oriented individual to join us as a full-time Office & Bookkeeping Assistant at our Pitt Meadows Head Office. This position acts as a primary point of contact within the business and is mainly responsible for bookkeeping, office operations, and miscellaneous administrative tasks. If you are someone who has a keen eye for numbers, prides themselves on getting the details right, and enjoys a fast-paced and engaging position, this is will be a good fit for you!
Responsibilities
Administration
- Answer phone calls and manage public correspondences (e-mail, letters, packages etc.)
- Interact with customers and process farm store retail sales
- Track office supplies inventory and reorder when necessary
- Assist in purchasing of other supplies & equipment in various business areas
- Provide administrative support to departments within the organization when needed
Bookkeeping
- Track due dates & pay invoices, calculate and record employee reimbursements, and record business expense journal entries (AP)
- Generate client invoices, coordinate payment and account information with clients, monitor and collect outstanding payments (B2B AR)
- Export, organize, and verify retail sales records and online sales records (B2C AR)
- Bank reconciliation and credit reconciliation for all AP and AR entries
- Collect time sheets and calculate payroll based on work hours, statutory holidays, vacation pay, and other payments
- Create and maintain payroll records and basic personnel records
- Compile sales and payroll records for basic reporting to government agencies
Requirements
- High school completion or equivalent
- Post-secondary training/degree in relevant field is highly preferred
- At least 1 year of bookkeeping experience
- At least 1 year of office administration experience
- Exceptional computer literacy and highly efficient with Microsoft Excel
- Very familiar with basic accounting principles & accounting software (Quickbooks)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Very adaptable and strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- Fluency in English with strong verbal and written communication skills
Compensation/Benefits
- Starting wage of $22-24+/hr based on experience and skill set
- Eligible for health spending account after 3 months of work
