We are looking for a motivated individual to join our Accounting team at our main Shop in King, Ontario.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for both hourly and salaried employees.
- Administer payroll and time and attendance functions, and periodic reconciliation and reporting.
- Maintain accurate and current employee data in the ADP system.
- Processing of union dues and preparation and submission of required reporting.
- Comply with relevant reporting requirements (GST/HST, WSIB, T4s, etc.)
- Maintenance of Company benefit plan and fees.
- Back-up support to accounts payable and accounts receivable records and posting transactions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software.
- Process and reconcile credit card transactions and petty cash.
- Organize and analyze account data and general financial reports.
- Coordinate and support HR Department when required.
- Assist in audit and year-end preparation for corporate tax return.
- General office administration tasks, including filing, data entry, and document management.
- Handle incoming calls and correspondence.
- Assist management with ad hoc audit and accounting requests, reports, and process and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills & Capabilities
- Minimum of 10 years’ of progressive experience in Accounting/Bookkeeping and/or Office Administration
- Minimum 3 years’ of experience running Payroll
- Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now; Microsoft Great Plains (GP) experience is considered an asset.
- Excellent proficiency in MS Office (Exchange, Excel, Word)
- Construction Industry experience is preferred.
- Excellent understanding of general accounting principles and procedure
- Familiar with inter-company, inter-jurisdictional and multi-currency transactions.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Advanced/Proficient English language skills (CEFR C1/C2 – CLB 9/10) – both written and oral
- Legally authorized to work in Canada for any employer
- Independent and reliable means of transportation to work location
