We are a small family-run accounting firm, seeking a part-time bookkeeper to join us. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining several of our clients’ financial records, managing accounts payable and accounts receivable and ensuring that data is maintained in a timely and organized fashion.
This is currently an in-person opportunity - office location in Markham.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Full cycle bookkeeping for clients
- Prepare HST returns, WSIB and EHT as needed
- Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Completing month end entries and bank reconciliations
- Maintaining an up-to-date record of all transactions
- Generate reports as requested
- Account analysis and reconciliations
- Liaise between outside vendors, and client as required
- Miscellaneous administrative work as needed (mailing, filing, digitizing etc.)
- Visit client premises as needed (within GTA)
Experience
- Proven experience as a full-cycle bookkeeper or accounting clerk
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively through all mediums (spoken and written)
- Proficient/familiarity with at least one accounting software (Sage or Quickbooks - online preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is a must
- Must be able to work independently, and take direction from all staff
- Preference for those with a combination of experience and educational background
Education
- College diploma or bachelor’s degree in an accounting related field (preferred but not mandatory)
