Job Summary
The Finance Manager under the direction of the Executive Director, is responsible for monitoring the financial health of the organization, analyzing everyday financial activities and subsequently provide advice and guidance to the Executive Director on future financial plans.
The goal is to enable the Executive Director to make sound financial decisions and meet the organizations objectives.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to utilize your expertise in financial analysis and strategic planning by analyzing day-to-day financial activities with precision, you will provide valuable insights and recommendations to the Executive Director.
· Your guidance will empower the Executive Director to make informed decisions that align with the organization’s long-term goals.
· Additionally, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing financial plans that support the organizations growth.
· Monitoring financial performance, identifying areas for improvement, and capitalizing on opportunities will be integral parts of your responsibilities.
· The Finance Manager/Assistant Executive Director must be able to prioritize tasks and work both independently and as part of a larger team. The position requires a willingness to adapt to a dynamic work environment and new technology as well as the ability to always deal with people sensitively and professionally.
Job Duties
- Oversee Monthly Reconciliation of all Bank accounts and Credit Cards
- Compilation of data for various reports, including month end financials
- Work in collaboration with the Executive Director and Bookkeeper in the preparation and updating of operational budgets
- Preparation of financial and narrative reports for the Executive Director, Board of Directors and as per funding requirements.
- Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to managerial staff while recommending further courses of action.
- Analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, and the organizations actual performance compared to the strategic plan.
- Develop trends and projections for the organization’s finances.
- Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction or reallocation opportunities.
- Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met.
- Manage the preparation of the company’s Annual budget and proposed departmental budgets for new programs.
- In the absence of the Bookkeeper/Finance, will perform basic bookkeeping functions
- Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances and information is provided to ensure annual audited financial statements are provided on or before the 3rd week of June.
- In the absence of the Executive Director will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the organization.
- Support Executive Director with HR and Personnel
- Occasional travel may be required
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality in all interactions
- Assist with other activities of the organization as required

Qualifications
- Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work
- Excellent communication, written and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Provide a clear criminal record check
- Proficient in Sage 300 General Ledger, Payroll and Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable and Microsoft Office programs (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Experience working with a non-profit organization.
- 10 years’ or more bookkeeping/accounting experience
- Able to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used
- A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles
- Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations
- BS/MA degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics
- Professional qualification such as CFA/CPA or similar will be considered a plus
- High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment
- Valid Driver’s License and willing to submit to criminal record check and provide drivers abstract.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $38.00-$42.00 per hour
