*What do we need?*
CABN is seeking a Finance Manager, who will be responsible for the financial controls, accounting and payroll for the company. This position will report directly to the CEO for all matters, and will also work in concert with external financial parties. Ideally we are seeking someone who has experience with financial controls related to construction projects, real estate financing, non-profit finance management, as well as someone who can remain flexible enough to see the company through rapid expansion and investment.
* Manage day to day financial operations for the company, which include daily, weekly and monthly accounting functions, implementing new procedures, forecasting, analysis and reporting, year end and tax filings, processing salaried, exception based payroll (bi-monthly), processing related remittances, assist with the generation of invoices and processing receivables.
* Maintain external relationships with the CRA, accounting firm, and banks to ensure that the company remains compliant and in good-standing.
* Participate in the cost forecasting exercises and project controls for future and ongoing construction projects, tracking budget and expense, highlighting areas of concern or opportunity based on the actuals.
* Provide input to team for grant applications or investment opportunities for real-time business financial actuals
* Provide regular financial statements for CEO
*About you:*
Our ideal candidate has:
* 8+ years of experience with financial controls, with a preference to either project based finance or company start-up finance management.
* We are still a growing team, and this position will be expected to be relied upon for process creation as well as being an individual contributor until the company has expanded enough to hire support resources.
* We are looking for someone who has strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to extensively analyze business needs, processes and workflows to ensure that we are doing things the best way possible.
*Education:*
* Degree, Diploma or related experience in Business, Accounting, Economics, Commerce, etc.
* CPA/CFA/MBA could be advantageous, however not required for the position. Our focus is on fit and ability to deliver on what is needed versus designations
