Well respected, family owned Swimming Pool Construction and Landscaping company centrally located in Burnaby, BC is looking to hire Full Cycle Bookkeeper / Accountant to join their small, tight knit office team.
The position is starting at part-time (with possibility at a later date of full-time) and will require available days to come in between Monday to Friday (office closed on weekends). The ideal candidate is able to multi-task; work independently and has strong accounting skills.
- Full cycle bookkeeping, including but not limited accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and government remittances for multiple companies.
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts, adjust journal entries to prepare trial balance, maintain general ledgers.
- Internal company bookkeeping, including processing, and recording bill payments, processing credit card and cheque payments of invoices from clients.
- Preparation of internal financial statements for management, and assisting in audit preparation.
- Maintaining client information in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online.
- Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested.
- Other projects/tasks as requested by Management.
- Support continuous improvement to streamline processes and improve efficiencies.
Experiences and skills required to be successful in this role:
- 3-5 years bookkeeping experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree an asset (but not required) . An equivalent in accounting, business, or related field, or combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Proficient use of QuickBooks Desktop a must. (Knowledge of QuickBooks Online is an asset).
- Proficient use of Excel and other Microsoft 365 applications.
Requirements:
- Good working knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop;
- Minimum 3 years full cycle bookkeeping and accounting;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skill;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite;
- Well organized and detail oriented;
- Works well in small group setting; usually 3-5 people in office at a time.
