We're on the lookout for a talented Payroll Administrator to join our team! At Voyageur Aviation Corp. you'll have the opportunity to work with a dynamic and innovative team to create meaningful impact and drive results.
The Payroll Administrator plays a key role in administering payroll for over 350 employees with a focus on continual improvement, internal controls, and accurate results. The successful candidate will report to and provide ongoing support to the Director, Accounting and Corporate Administration to develop procedures, documentation, and data analysis to ensure pay is accurately processed for employees while ensuring regulatory standards are followed and internal controls are maintained.
Payroll Management – Financial:
- Manage all aspects of bi-weekly payroll administration including the related financial and legislative components for hourly, salaried, and potential contract employees both union and non-union.
- Review and manage the accuracy and timeliness of the calculations for wages, overtime, special payments, source deductions and payroll, to ensure they comply with applicable regulatory standards.
- Responsible for all aspects of financial payroll issues (i.e., EHT, WSIB, CRA Source, Union dues, Taxable benefits/deductions etc.).
- Collaborate and support internal divisions, front line staff, and management to address matters relating to payroll services and provide subject matter expertise as required.
Process Analyst & Expense Reimbursement:
- Provide oversight and management of the expense claim process to ensure all claims follow company policy and procedure.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting, analyzing, and documenting information.
Your Distinctive Ingredients for Success:
- Post-secondary education in 2 yr. program in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certificate or equivalent payroll specific training certification.
- 5-7 years of experience in a similar role.
- 2 year min experience within Federal Payroll system
- Knowledge of payroll processes, legislation, and taxation for all pay groups.
- Possess strong computer skills with a demonstrated proficiency in payroll and accounting-related software programs, and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Superior problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills with excellent attention to detail and desire to question status quo is required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and impartiality.
- Experience implementing HRIS or Payroll Solutions (UKG) is an asset.

You must be legally eligible to work for a Canadian company (e.g., be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada, or possess a valid work permit) and provide a clear Criminal Background Check.

Location and other Key Details:
Work assignments may require working in a secured work environment or with security sensitive contracts for DND/DOD and may require safety and security clearances. The candidate is expected to be in a position to receive such clearance from the RCMP.
Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
