We are looking for a confident and professional Payroll Assistant. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting our day-to-day operations by handling payroll tasks efficiently and effectively. This position offers an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and thrives on tackling new challenges.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Administers payroll functions related to pensions, sick leave and WSIB
- Processes termination documentation (e.g. Record of Employment, pension plan, etc.)
- Participates in processing payroll for unionized and non-unionized employee groups, ensuring the accuracy of the payroll processing
- Identifies and responds to issues in a timely manner, demonstrating appropriate follow-up
- Works with the payroll team to ensure compliance with all relevant procedures and policies, legislation and timelines
- Maintains personnel files and records ensuring confidentiality
- Provides essential administrative support to both the Payroll Team and the Human Resources Department
- Demonstrates strong capabilities in office administration, records management, and payroll-related functions
Qualifications
- College diploma in Payroll/ or equivalent post secondary education/certificate required
- Minimum 2 years experience in office administration preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office is required
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, time management and customer service skills are essential
- Reliability, discretion with confidential information is required
- Must have strong attention to detail and accuracy
