What You Will Get To Do

By effectively building positive rapport and relationships both internally and externally, the successful candidate will help us achieve our mission that together we deliver services that make a difference in our community.
Reporting to and under the direction of the Sr. Manager of Revenue and Taxation the Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for:
- Preparing Town issued accounts receivable invoices generated from internal departmental requests and verification of billing advice information provided
- Tracking and monitoring agreements related to the lease/rental of Town-owned properties and issue invoices (along with supporting documentation, such as utility bills) in a timely manner to tenants
- Provide Customer Service for receivables including receiving resident/customer/tenant inquiries and providing responses
- Analyzing and reviewing aged accounts receivable monthly; collaborating with departments to follow up on outstanding accounts for collections
- Completes monthly reconciliations related to all accounts receivable and related revenue accounts
- Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
- Assists with year end and audit preparation and auditor requests
- Monitors deposit batches to ensure transactions have been processed and applied correctly
- Track and monitor agreements related to the lease/rental of Town-owned properties
- Issue invoices (and associated supporting documentation) in a timely manner to tenants
- Assist with Property Tax receivables and their collection
- Providing general administrative and financial accounting support; including Data entry and reconciliation :
- other related duties assigned.

What You Bring To Our Team
As the successful applicant, you must possess:
- a post-secondary diploma in Accounting, Finance or other equivalent with a focus on Accounting.
- a minimum of three (3) years of directly related work experience.
- completion or enrolment in the Municipal Accounting and Finance Program (MAFP), AMCTO Certification, or CPA in progress.
- completion of or enrolment in the Municipal Tax Administration (MTAP), would be an asset.
- strong understanding of HST (Harmonized Sales Tax) and the rules of application
- intermediate level computer skills (MS Office, accounting related systems);
- excellent interpersonal skills to be able to establish effective working relationships with staff.
- well-developed communications skills with the ability to convey information in a clear and concise manner.
- ability to provide advice and guidance to all levels of staff related.
- strong reasoning, mathematical and analytical skills.
- strong technical and research skills; and,
- the ability to work well individually and as a member of a team.
What We Offer You
- Salary: $57,275 - $71,617 per annum (Band E)

This is designated as a designated as a Frontline Hybrid role. Frontline Hybrid recognizes that up to 40% of job functions associated with the role can be done virtually, from a remote office.
