*Note: This is a temporary assignment for one year with the possibility of extension.
What you will do:
Participate in/establish the audit scope and objectives to ensure activities are consistent with the ethics, values and strategic objectives of the Company.
Perform end-to-end audits including planning, scoping, fieldwork, testing and the delivery and communication of high-quality audit reports to internal partners, which may include Executive and senior management and the Board of Directors.
Lead teams on select engagements (acting as the Auditor-in-Charge) including mentoring junior staff members and performing review of their work.
Perform detailed risk assessments and root cause analysis of areas under operational audit consideration.
Develop and execute audit programs and procedures including estimating and acquiring required resources, setting realistic timelines as well as identifying and providing valuable recommendations and opportunities to leverage data analytics.
Communicate the results of work by preparing audit reports.
Conduct/assist in research and analysis of technical and best-practice standards.
Perform special project work at the request of management or the Audit Finance & Risk Committee.
Promote the Internal Audit function within the organization.
Participate in departmental strategic initiatives .
Who you are:
You have the following qualifications and experience:
Undergraduate degree in Finance, Engineering, EHS, Business or other technical field with experience working either in Internal Audit or Field Operations.
Knowledge of Canadian/US pipeline /asset regulations and auditing standards.
Project management and operational risk management experience required.
Previous experience in operational management system development and implementation as well as auditing management systems required.
Experience with progressive audit practices, process development, performance bench-marking and effective use of data analytics .
Seven or more years of business/operational experience.
Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or other audit related designations is highly desirable.
